Around 70% of the costs of a typical business is money that is spent with suppliers.
At Philippine Shaw, we believe businesses perform at their best when they spend wisely and with purpose. We help organisations unlock the full value of their supplier base through a comprehensive suite of procurement and supply chain services, driving transformation across cost, capability, and sustainability.
Driving meaningful change is more critical than ever — and more complex. From geopolitical instability and economic headwinds to the urgent push toward net zero and the fundamental need to stay competitive, businesses face mounting challenges and are under pressure to respond quickly.
Procurement and people have the potential to be strategic enablers — bringing bold thinking and unlocking the full value of the supply chain, the ‘external enterprise,’ to help organisations meet these challenges and realise their full potential.
Broadly speaking, we help organisations in two key ways: by delivering procurement services directly, and by building high-performing procurement operating models.
We pride ourselves on providing specialist procurement expertise through our “practitioner consultants” — professionals who bring first-hand experience and deep knowledge to every engagement, which our clients greatly value.
We believe in challenging the status quo—because improvement is almost always possible. Our approach helps businesses become not only more profitable and more sustainable but also more innovative and resilient in a rapidly changing world. By working together, we support organisations in creating greater value—not just for shareholders, but for all stakeholders and society as a whole. It’s about driving meaningful impact across financial, environmental, and social dimensions.
Our approach includes rigorous performance tracking, contract optimisation, and ongoing supplier development to enhance quality, reduce costs, and drive innovation. Through robust financial modelling, we assess total cost of ownership, forecast savings opportunities, and support data-driven decision-making—helping organisations prioritize investments and achieve measurable returns across the supply base.
Procurement plays a critical role during and after the M&A process, acting as a key driver of value creation and operational efficiency.
During the integration phase, we help identify immediate cost synergies by consolidating supplier bases, renegotiating contracts, and eliminating duplication across sourcing functions.
Post-merger, we ensure sustainable value by standardising processes, leveraging combined purchasing power, and aligning vendor strategies with the new organisational goals.
Procurement technology advice is vital for major brands seeking to modernise operations, improve transparency, and drive cost efficiency. With rapidly evolving digital tools, our expert guidance ensures the right solutions are selected, integrated, and aligned with business goals. We help our clients automate processes, gain real-time insights, and strengthen supplier collaboration—ultimately turning procurement into a strategic advantage.
We help organisations develop an innovation culture by embedding curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement into their procurement practices. Through strategic supplier engagement, agile processes, and targeted capability building, we empower teams to challenge conventions and seek new value opportunities. By creating the right structures, incentives, and mindset, we enable innovation to move from isolated initiatives to a core part of how the business operates and grows.
Sticking with incumbent suppliers out of habit can lead to missed opportunities for better value, improved service levels, or access to new capabilities. By questioning existing arrangements and exploring alternative suppliers, organisations encourage competition, stimulate fresh thinking, and ensure alignment with evolving business needs and market conditions
We leverage the deep sector expertise of our people to improve an organisation’s supply chain by bringing practical insights, proven strategies, and hands-on experience to every engagement.
Our team understands the unique dynamics of each industry and works closely with clients to identify inefficiencies, streamline operations, and build more resilient, agile supply chains.
By combining sharp commercial acumen with collaborative, problem-solving mindsets, we help clients turn their supply chains into drivers of value and long-term performance
Philippine Shaw’s procurement methodology—Meet, Think, Propose, Improve—is designed for speed and efficiency without compromising on quality. The process begins with a focused Meet phase, where we engage quickly with stakeholders to gather essential information, understand priorities, and identify constraints. This upfront clarity allows us to Think strategically and rapidly, drawing on deep category expertise, market intelligence, and data-driven insights to assess opportunities and define the right approach. Because we eliminate unnecessary steps and bureaucracy, clients benefit from accelerated timelines right from the start.
What makes this methodology especially efficient is its structured yet agile nature. In the Propose phase, we deliver clear, actionable solutions tailored to the client’s needs, supported by robust commercial and operational rationale. The Improve phase ensures that implementation is not the end but a starting point for ongoing refinement and added value. By continuously optimising based on feedback and measurable results, we help clients achieve lasting procurement improvements. The streamlined, iterative process cuts through complexity, enabling faster decision-making, quicker execution, and sustained performance gains.

At Philippine Shaw, we understand that every client has unique procurement needs, priorities, and risk appetites. That’s why we offer a flexible approach to our commercial engagements through three distinct fee models: fixed fee, shared savings, and a hybrid of both.
A fixed fee model provides predictability and budget certainty, making it ideal for projects with well-defined scopes and timelines, as clients know exactly what they will pay regardless of outcomes.
The shared savings model offers a compelling reward structure that directly links performance to tangible financial outcomes. It incentivises our consultants to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, knowing that both their organisation and our client will benefit from the results.
By rewarding efficiency, innovation, and proactive cost management, the model empowers our consultants to drive value beyond traditional procurement measures. Transforming their role from contract overseer to value creator—one focused on delivering measurable impact across the business.
A hybrid model, combining fixed and performance-based elements, offers the best of both worlds: it ensures baseline service delivery while still incentivising cost optimisation, striking a balance between risk-sharing and predictable cost control.
